Why Diet And Exercising is necessary For Weight Loss

Obesity is now referred to as an epidemic in the healthcare community. In fact, it will soon become the leading cause of preventable death in the United States, even before smoking. Obesity leads to type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or stroke and an even higher risk of cancer. With all these health risks and possible overall improvement in health, losing weight is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Whatever we want to believe, it's not just a magic solution for weight loss. When the body needs more calories than you provide on a given day, it will produce more fat. It's that simple. Therefore, to lose weight, you need to reduce the number of calories you eat and increase the amount you burn.

There are several options to choose from when looking for a weight loss program. They all spend a lot of time explaining what they ate, the prices, and at what times or in what combinations they ate. But a few of them highlight the importance of exercise – not just weight loss, but your overall health and well-being. Exercise is important when trying to lose weight for several reasons:

First, your metabolism will slow down as you start to eat less. Exercise helps raise your body to a more efficient level. Second, as mentioned, the exercise burns extra calories to lose weight faster and keeps you motivated in your efforts. Third, exercise actually releases endorphins, chemicals that keep your mood high.

Exercising doesn't mean spending hours at the gym or working on a gruelling schedule. In fact, exercise should be your favourite activity to be able to stick with it over time. Start by increasing your workload throughout the process. If possible, use the stairs. When you go shopping, park away from the mall entrance. Take a walk in the park or a favourite place and bring a dog or a friend and company. Take dance lessons or martial arts.

When you exercise more often, you will find it easier and more natural to start regular exercise. All you have to do is give them an outlet and the support they need to keep going. You need to get your heart rate up to a fat burner and keep it there for at least 20 minutes 3 or more times a week. But if you don't want to go to the gym, there are other options. Videos and DVDs are now available for all types of workouts. That way, you can always change your habit so you don't get frustrated with what you've done. Try a variety of aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, or just about any activity you want from the comfort of your home.

If you have physical limitations that may prevent you from exercising, you can still find a way to increase your activity level. Water aerobics is a great option for those with joint problems or limited mobility, as it releases the stress your body weight provides. But you still find resistance in the water to challenge your muscles. Classes and videos are also available that allow you to exercise while seated.

Whatever type of exercise you choose, it's important to stay motivated and keep it fun. Try to get the group together to make it a fun activity. Or get a pedometer, a device that measures your distance, and see how many miles you can walk each week. Compete with your friends or family members and give the winner something special (it's not about the food!). Make the exercise experience something you look forward to and it will soon become a regular part of your healthy lifestyle.
