The windows of more than 20 cars, trucks, vans and two-wheelers parked in Thillai Nagar, Upper Patshah Pett, Lower Patshah Pett, Murugan Kovil Street, Chudugadu Medu areas in Aroor were smashed and vandalized last 2 days past midnight. A complaint was filed at Arur police station.

Sivalingam (age 53) hails from Vachathi near Arur in Dharmapuri district. He was working as a village administrative officer in Nadupatti village near Uthangarai in Krishnagiri district. He went to work as usual on the 18th. He then told the attendant that he had ingested poison.
The assistant informed Shivalingam's son Dakshinamurthy about this. Later, the helper and the people from the neighborhood rescued the Shiv Lingam and took it to Uthangari Government Hospital for treatment.
