DEMOCRACY IN PAKISTAN.

There are many form of government but the most important form is Democracy. It is the government of people. No man is idolized in Democracy.

                        The best definition of Democracy is given by Abraham Lincoln;

                                   "Democracy is rule of the people, by the people for the people and of the people".

                        There are two houses in Democracy. The lower house and the upper house.In Pakistan we call them National Assembly, are elected directly by the people in the general election, Which take place after five years. The members of National Assembly elect the Prime Minister. The president is elected by the National Assembly and Senate both. The Prim Minister is the head of the administration and he is responsible for all the administrative affairs of the country. There are provincial Assemblies in all the four provinces and the Chief Minister is the head of provincial administration.

                           The history of Democracy in Pakistan is not encouraging. The process of Democracy was stopped in Pakistan because of the selfish attitude of politicians. They never thought about nation and the common people. They thought about their own interests. They were indulged in conspiracies and adverse activities. So the process of Democracy was not held in n Pakistan for many years. The trouble and is that majority of our people is under-educated and the Democracy can be successful only when honest and upright patriotic people come in the assemblies. In the Pakistan,the person, who can spend million, he tries to earn billion in the capacity of a member of Assembly. How Democracy can survive in such condition. Democracy can in our country, only when honest and sincere people are elected by the people and people can not elect such persons untill and unless they are well educated. Democracy is successful in West only because the majority of Western people is educated. Democracy needs Democratic attitude.
