The kids have moved away, and now you suddenly find yourself in the house with a spare room. Unless you're in dire need of a home office, why not make that extra room into a game room? After all, you've worked hard, it's time to play, and the game room can be a room full of excitement and fun. There was a time when you could only afford the luxury of a game room if you had a basement, and that usually meant a sofa and a billiard table.
However, in this age of technology, the game room will most likely consist of a TV with a big screen and a game console with lots of video games. Some will still have a billiard table. One reason is that most rooms are not as large as the basement, and a billiard table takes up most of the available space. Since this should be a family room or a room to entertain you and your friends, why not add a game table that you can use to play board games, and maybe a soccer table, or an air hockey game table.
These won't take up as much room as a pool table. What is the best way to decorate this room? What about wallpaper?
Below are some ideas that you can consider. First, be sure to use a glossy wall. Stay away from dark pink; no one wants to play in a dark room. Use "fun" paints like light green, pale yellow, and light orange, but try to use orange only as an accent. You should not paint the entire wall orange. Bright wallpapers will increase the level of excitement in the room, while dark walls will only bring sadness to the room. In addition to painting the game room a glossy wall, you may also want to add a purple border. There are so many patterns to choose from! If the theme of your game room is more focused on board games or card games, find a border with graphics of tables, chairs, or perhaps poker cards. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, look for borders that represent fun, excitement, and celebrations. You should also have boundaries that attract both beautiful. Keep this in mind with the difference. In other words, try to stay away from the dark like pink.
If the game room allows it, try to separate the room so that can easily move from one area of the room to another. For example, you can designate an area of the room as a card and/or board game area and place the table in that part of the room. Another area of the room can be designated as the TV area. Here, you can play video games or watch the Super Bowl or other sports games. Something for everyone. Consider hosting a "Decorate the Game Room" party; join them in choosing, borders, games, music, and more Combine all your favorite games and creative outlets to create the best game room on the block. Play a round of pool or ping pong, jam your guitar, challenge yourself to arcade games, and play a game in one place!
