Dietary pH foods try to control many conditions in the body, including obesity, by leaving acidic foods and behaviors. One of the most amazing entries on the list, at least for Westerners, is milk. Dairy products, although the basis of Western food, are not included in the diet of most people around the world. So what other world do we not know? Milk is not necessary for health; from a pH perspective, it is actually harmful to the body.
Many people believe that milk and milk are essential for bone formation and overall health. However, dairy products contain high amounts of protein and fat, both of which form acid. Cow's milk and products made from cow's milk produce acid. Goat's milk and lamb and cheese, which are low in fat and protein, produce less acid. The only alternative to milk is alkalizing butter due to its short chain fat inside it.
In 2003, the Harvard School of Public Health released another pyramid on FDA recommendations based on the inequalities observed by members of the original pyramid. Although it did not specifically mention acidic and alkaline foods, the tower shows a tendency for alkaline foods. One of the most obvious differences between the FDA pyramid and the Harvard pyramid is the intake of milk supply or calcium supplement 1 daily. The FDA recommends 2 to 3 servings a day, in addition to dietary supplements.
A professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Nutrition and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health, points out in the Harvard pyramid description that Americans should eat less dairy products. The body needs calcium, but not at the levels of two to three foods recommended by the FDA. Calcium is needed for normal bone development and maintenance; however, the average adult can get enough calcium in the supplement. Calcium levels of 2 to 3 milk per day can be dangerous to health. Excessive calcium intake may increase the risk of certain cancers, and there has been no link between high calcium levels and prevent osteoporosis.
In addition, milk is far from being pure food. The dairy industry has worked hard to raise the profile that cow's milk is important and safe. However, consider that 50 years ago a typical cow produced 2,000 pounds [2,000 kg] of milk a year, and today cows average 50,000 pounds [50,000 kg] a year. Drugs, antibiotics, hormones, special breeding and compulsory food are all milk production so that dairy farmers can produce more. All of these ingredients are part of the milk that people drink every day.
A growing number of Americans, including those who follow a pH-balanced diet, eliminate milk from their diet and have positive effects. In recent studies, milk has been linked to intestinal colic, intestinal irritation, anemia and allergies in infants and toddlers. In children, the main problems were allergies, ear and tonsil infections, asthma, colic and childhood diabetes. Studies have shown that older people suffer from heart disease, arthritis, allergies and sinusitis because of milk that is normally produced.
A quick search for the dangers of milk can open your eyes to these “safe” foods. Studying research and seeing the acidic effects of milk and other dairy products makes it clear why they should not be included in a diet pH wonder.
