Coronavirus, How is it dangerous?

where did the virus come from:

The virus believed to come late last year from the food market in the Chinese city of Wuhan that was selling illegal wildlife. Health experts think that it may be originated in bats and then passed to humans, possibly via animal species.

How dangerous  it is?:  

The new virus identified by scientists as COVID-19 is a Corona Virus, a family of viruses that include the common cold and other diseases.

Coronavirus infections have a wide range of symptoms, including fever, cough, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties. Its severe case can cause death.

How it is transmitted?:

The new Coron  Virus can be transmitted from person to person, although it is not clear how easily that happens. Transmission is most likely through close contact with an infected person via particles in the air from coughing and sneezing, or by someone touching an infected person or objects with a virus on it and then touching their mouth, nose, or eyes. Doctors in China have also said that pregnant women infected with that virus may be able to pass it to their unborn children.

Are Antibiotics Effective?:

No Antibiotics did not work against viruses, only bacteria. The new Coronavirus is a virus, and therefore, antibiotics should not be used as a means of prevention or treatment. However, if you hospitalized for COVID-19, you may receive antibiotics because bacterial co-infection is possible.

What to do if you have the symptoms?:

Don't Rush to the hospitals,

If you have the symptoms or otherwise suspect yourself of having contracted COVID-19, do not go to hospitals. While this advice may sound counterproductive, it is essential to follow as the healthcare system is soon going to be overburdened if it is not already. If you find the symptoms, you should contact the helpline by calling at 1166. They will let you know whether you need to get tested or not.

Hygiene measures:

WHO'S standard recommendations for the general public to reduce exposure to and transmission of a range of illnesses are as  follows, which include hand and respiratory hygiene and safe food practice :

  • Frequently clean hands for 20 seconds by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue _ throw the tissue away immediately and wash hands.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever and cough.
  • If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider.
  • When visiting live markets in areas currently experiencing cases of that virus, avoid direct contact with live animals.
  • The consumption of raw and uncooked animal products should be avoided. Fresh meat, milk should be handled with care to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods, as per good food safety practices.

Awareness:

The risk of this virus can be reduced or eradicated by awarding our public. Govt has been taken many initiatives to aware of our public through media or TV channels etc.
