Committee to look into Vizag fishing harbor fire incident
A special committee has been formed by the Andhra Pradesh government to investigate the large fire that occurred at the Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour on Sunday night, November 19, which resulted in the destruction of 45 mechanized boats.
Members of the revenue, fire, fishery, and police agencies make up the committee. In addition, the government has assembled a team made up of members of the Central Crime Station (CCS), Crime, and Task Force wings to question the detained suspects and track down those who fled the scene of the incident.

The owner of the yacht where the fire started and another individual who manages a YouTube channel reportedly got into an argument. According to reports, the proprietor of the YouTube channel, who is a member of the fishing community, stole money up front from the owner of the boat who wished to buy a new vessel. According to reports, the owners of the YouTube channel and the boat got into a fight on Sunday after the latter objected to receiving his money back. Over on the boat, they had a drinking party.
It was stated that some of the people on the boat caught fire. That is the initial knowledge we now possess. We're currently looking into the matter," a police spokesperson stated.
At the fishing harbor, a number of fishermen voiced their concerns about the lack of appropriate security measures. However, a group of fishermen claimed that the nearby CISF officers of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) prioritize the port area above the fishing harbor.
Vasupalli Janakiram, president of the Andhra Pradesh Mechanized Boat Owners' Welfare Association, stated that their group has brought up the security concerns with the relevant authorities on multiple occasions. "We have brought to the Collector's attention the matter of establishing a police outpost within the harbor. We'll bring up the security issue once more," he declared.
