In Chennai, the price of jewellery gold has risen sharply today, once again crossing the historic milestone of ₹1 lakh per sovereign.
After declining over the past few days, the price has increased by ₹1,120 per sovereign in a single day this morning. Last week, gold prices crossed ₹1 lakh for the first time, but later dipped slightly and were sold at ₹99,520 yesterday. However, prices have surged again today.
As per today’s rates, 22-carat jewellery gold in Chennai is being sold at ₹12,580 per gram and ₹1,00,640 per sovereign.
Silver prices have also increased by ₹4,000 per kilogram, with one kilogram of silver now selling at ₹2,60,000. The price of silver per gram has been fixed at ₹260.
Whether prices will decline or rise further in the coming days will be determined by global market movements.
