One Bowl Chocolate Cake Ingredients Here’s what you'll need to make this easy chocolate cake: Sugar: White sugar helps keep the cake moist and tender. Flour: All-purpose flour provides structure and gives the cake its shape. Cocoa: Unsweetened cocoa powder adds rich chocolate flavor and color. Baking powder: This helps the cake rise and become light and fluffy. Baking soda: Added to improve rise and texture. Salt: A little salt enhances the chocolate flavor and balances the sweetness. Eggs: Help bind the batter together. Milk: Adds moisture and creates a smooth, pourable batter. Oil: Vegetable oil keeps the cake soft and moist longer than butter would. Vanilla extract: Enhances and rounds out the chocolate flavor. Boiling water: Creates a thinner batter for a moist, tender crumb.
