Big Wins for NewJeans and Silica Gel, Beenzino's Awesome Album Takes the Top Prize at KMAs

The 21st Korean Music Awards winners have been announced, with Kpop girl group NewJeans and rock band Silica Gel leading the pack, each earning three awards. Rapper Beenzino secured the coveted Album of the Year title with "Nowitzki."

 

On Thursday, the 21st KMA Awards unfolded at Prism Studio in southern Seoul. NewJeans emerged triumphant in several categories, taking home the Song of the Year and Best Kpop Song awards for "Ditto." Furthermore, they clinched the Best Kpop Album prize for their creation titled "Get Up."


In the preceding year, the group achieved recognition with three awards, notably winning Rookie of the Year, Best Kpop Album, and Best Kpop Singers.

 

Silica Gel rocked the stage by winning the Best Modern Rock Song for the third time in a row. They also scooped up awards for being the Best Music Makers and having the Best Rock Album with their unique and special music.

 

Beenzino's big win was super special because he's the first hip-hop artist in eight whole years to grab the coolest Album of the Year award. And guess what? He won again for having the Best Rap & Hip-Hop Album with that same awesome music collection.


But wait, the fun doesn't stop there! The super-new and talented four-member group, Kiss of Life, got their hands on the Rookie of the Year trophy. Everybody noticed how great their music is, and they became a big deal


Their albums, "Machine Boy" and "Tik Tak Tok," released in April and August last year, stood out for being special and different.

Beenzino's victory marked a significant milestone as the first hip-hop artist in eight years to clinch the Album of the Year award. Furthermore, he secured another win in the Best Rap & Hip-Hop Album category for the same album.
