Being a tour guide is not an easy job if we look at it broadly. But it is an easy way to earn a few bucks. So here are a few easy tips and tricks on how to be a tour guide. 1. know your area : It is very important to know the place in which you will be taking your clients. Every little detail from the names of places and landmarks to its importance and significance should be available to you. 2. Language : Language is also an important aspect of being a tour guide as communication is very necessary. You can't just go about taking your clients to places without telling them about the places so your language (English) should be fluent. 3.Appearace : The way you dress will also tell a lot about you. You can't just go about guiding wearing flip flops and boxers (which i'm sure no one would do) but you should be presentable so that your clients feel secure and can rely on you as you are their guide. 4 Humour : Its always good to be funny and entertaining. On the way to a location instead of having an awkward silence its best to make a joke or converse with your clients to make them feel comfortable with you. 5 Honesty : It is very important that you only relay information to yoyr clients which are authentic. If you don't have reliable information tell them that you don't know, it won't make you less reliable. The fake information you provide to please your clients could lead to defamation of your own locality or town or city. 6. Q and A moments : during every tour its good to have a Q and A session so that your clients can know more about the place\object you show them.
