Vitamins and minerals are sometimes grouped together, yet they are different. Vitamins are organic substances present in plants and animals. These nutrients are called โessentialโ because they cannot be produced by the body (save vitamin D).
Minerals are inorganic elements found in rocks, soil, or water. However, the environment or an animal that ate a specific plant can indirectly provide these substances.
VITAMIN TYPES:
Dietary fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the liver and fatty tissues. Aside from vitamin C, there are eight water-soluble B vitamins (B-1,B-2,B-3,B-5,B-6,B-7, and B-12). Vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble.
Minerals are necessary for a healthy body, but just a few. Minerals are classified as substantial or trace. It doesn't mean major ones are more important than traces, just that your body has more of them.
