While governments are still struggling with a way to implement 5G on a broader scale, scientific innovation is not stopping for them. South Korean technology company LG is ready to showcase 6G technology during the ‘2021 Korea Science and Technology Exhibition’ held at KINTEX in Ilsan, a two-day event that kicked off on December 22, as per a report by FoneArena. As per the report, LG will unveil a power amplifier for 6G for the first time, a device it has jointly developed with Fraunhofer Research Institute, Germany. And the data transmission speed could set a new record, going by what has been seen in earlier tests. The report says that the company was able to transmit and receive data wirelessly over a distance of 100m in a straight line when outdoors using the 6G terahertz (THz) frequency band when it tested the device in Berlin this August. This wireless transmission uses a frequency band between 100 GHz and 10 THz to reportedly enable transmission rates of up to 1 terabit per second (1 Tbps).
