Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced the establishment of e-RUPI, a digital payment platform. The platform promises to be a person and purpose-specific digital payment system created by the National Payments Corporation of India in partnership with the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and National Health Authority. According to the PMO, it is projected to be a game-changing effort to ensure the delivery of leak-proof social services.
