Scientists at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution introduced nowadays that ribonucleic acid (RNA), an analog of DNA that used to be in all likelihood the first genetic cloth for life, spontaneously types on basalt lava glass. Such glass used to be plentiful on Earth 4.35 billion years ago. Similar basalts of this antiquity continue to exist on Mars today.
