There is no doubt that Bhisam was a great warrior. If seen from my point of view, Bhisam was not only a great but the greatest warrior of the Mahabharata period, in Treta Yuga, there was none other than Lord Shri Krishna, a greater warrior than Maha Mahim Bhisam. Till now it is told that Bhisam had once fought with Lord Shri Parashuram for the justice of Goddess Abha and defeated him.
