Somewhere around the late 19th century electrification of homes began and that was the first time that we actually “plugged in”! The electric bulb made nights accessible to mankind and the human minds were driven to enhance the efficiency of energy supply and usage in homes. Technology liberated us from the bounds of nature that drove us further toward development. Soon, appliances of all kinds came along and you could carry energy in your pocket. Batteries, appliances, and electricity combined to give us the very first generation of automated homes. Then like a meandering river, technology turned towards other sectors and innovations in home technology came to a halt. While the existing gadgets and gizmos did evolve, the humble home waited for new gifts of technology. The wait ended with IoT & a flood of automated devices that transformed the homes of India. This marked the beginning of home automation like never seen before.
