LEDs have a blue light peak range of 400-490 nm and the light emitted by most LEDs appears white. Pigments in the macula's inner layer absorb wavelengths between 400 and 520 nm in humans and work to enhance visual output. Light-emitting diodes were used in industrial and commercial settings to provide illumination. LEDs are used in televisions, laptops, mobile phones, and tablets. Smartphones provide users with illumination through Light Emitting Diode (LED) displays. Scientific evidence has shown that blue light exposure can affect many physiological functions, and can be used to treat circadian and sleeping dysfunctions. The essential wavelength for mood and sleep is blue light.
