Hibiscus – what is it?
Although it originated in tropical Africa, roselle now flourishes in many tropical regions. Elegant red blossoms are produced by this annual herb. When slightly immature, the flowers (calyx and bract sections) are harvested. Jamaica and Mexico are the two main producers.
