The computational models that estimate "brain age" from neuroimaging and then compare it to chronological age were the subject of research to determine whether resistance exercise could alter brain aging clocks. The researchers first trained prediction models on resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging data from 2,433 healthy adults before building their brain aging clock. After that, they used these models on 309 people who were enrolled in the randomized trial known as Live Active Successful Aging.
