Approximately 6 million people worldwide die each year from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). In the past five years, scientists have conducted SCA-related research through the ESCAPE-NET project. The number of primary care visits spiked in the weeks before a person experiences SCA, according to the project's research. According to another study, emergency medical services (EMS) providers provide less rapid resuscitation care to women than to men, resulting in a lower survival rate from SCA.
