Although research reveals that mental health practitioners stigmatize mental illness, studies on the subject are relatively recent. Little is known about the status of this research, and existing literature studies have numerous shortcomings. As a result, a scoping review was conducted on the endorsed stigmatization of mental illness by mental health practitioners, with the goal of investigating how research is conducted and whether there are gaps in the literature. Studies from any historical period were considered if they contained findings on the stigmatization of mental illness by mental health providers. Research was discovered using electronic databases (e.g., PsycINFO, Embase, Medline, and Scopus) as well as other sources. It was discovered that the research has a number of drawbacks.
