Juglans regia L, or Persian walnuts, are a very nutritious nut crop that are part of the Juglandaceae family of angiosperms. It is insaid that walnuts originated in from a wide swath of Central Asia across Eastern Europe, encompassing Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Northern India, Afghanistan, and Southern Russia. India is the seventh-largest producer of walnuts globally.The districts of Kashmir that are most significant for walnut growth include Anantnag, Pulwama, Kupwara, Budgam, Baramulla, and Srinagar; in the Jammu area, Doda, Kistwar, Poonch, and Udhampur are significant, with Rajouri and Kathua having a smaller amount. The harvest season typically lasts until November. When the green hulls start to separate and the nuts fall out naturally, it's time to harvest the walnuts.
