Experts say COVID-19 vaccinations are more important than ever now due to the emergence of the Omicron variant. New COVID-19 cases are still above 90,000 a day in the United States. Reported deaths are down, but the number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 has increased recently. The daily U.S. vaccination rate is sitting at about 1 million and experts say elected and community leaders still need to continue promoting the benefits of vaccination.
