Pakistan's prosperity and development have been hampered since its independence in 1947 by political instability, which has long been a major problem in the country. This article examines the numerous factors influencing the nation's turbulent political environment. The military's prevailing role in government is revealed to be a major source of instability, and its frequent interference in political issues weakens the democratic process. Additionally, the issue is made worse by the weak, corrupt, and ineffective civilian institutions. Additionally, tensions between different ethnic groups and regions have contributed, giving rise to separatist movements and sentiments of marginalization in some areas. Political divisiveness among the parties has also slowed down decision-making by causing frequent clashes. Economic difficulties facing the country, such as poverty, unemployment, inflation, and resource inequality, fuel public unrest and protests while undermining confidence in governmental leadership. The political environment has become more complex as a result of external meddling from foreign countries. In order to effectively combat political instability, the article underlines the necessity to build democratic institutions, guarantee civilian dominance, and foster a culture of political tolerance and inclusivity. Addressing Pakistan's economic problems and the complaints of excluded groups are also essential first steps in creating a country with greater stability and prosperity. Pakistan's ongoing battle with political instability will only be won through persistent efforts and a dedication to democratic principles.
