Rajinikanth and Dhanush are among the many stars expected to bag five major awards at the 68th National Awards with Suriya and his film Soorai Potru. At the award ceremony the film emerged as the best film of 2020 while Suriya was awarded the best actor award which he shared with Ajay Devgan for Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior. Aparna Balamurali won the best actress award for her performance in Surrai Potru. The film also won Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. GV Prakash won his fifth Best Background Score award for the film and rightly so.
