HIDDEN FEATURES OF GOOGLE
There won’t be anyone in this world who has not used Google. But, how many of them can say that they have entirely utilized the features of Google. No, not many. This is because some are highly useful for the same features we unnecessarily depend on other apps.
Guys, read the features of Google I mention below and wonder how great your Google is, more than you can expect!
Cam scanner in Google drive
Many of you would have downloaded a cam scanner (scanning with the help of a mobile camera) on your phone. But I tell you, if you are using an android phone, the best camscanner you can get is in-build there in your Google drive. Press the colorful ‘+’ button at the right bottom when you open Google drive. Out of many options appearing there, the scan option would be there, with a camera symbol. Please use this cam scanner, and the scanned documents will appear in your Google drive, making it easy to find and share the file.
Read aloud with Google lens.
Before moving on to the subheading, let me tell you that Google lens is one of the most significant features Google grants its users. Unfortunately, many don’t know this at all. It reminds you that Google lens is not a separate app but a feature available with the latest version of Google. You can find it in two places: a camera icon in the Google search bar and the Google Assistant (to the left side of the mic icon). Google lens also acts as a QR CODE scanner.
Coming back to the heading, imagine that you want a text to be read aloud, either because it’s written in a small text or you are not in a mood to read it, just take a screenshot of it and get it read through. Google lenses! Google lens will read any language that Google assistant can understand.
Help for homework from Google lens
Homework is an option that you get in Google lens. This doesn’t mean that it will solve all your homework problems. Instead, scanning the question will lead you to similar topics and helpful materials available on the internet and YouTube.
Translate photo through Google lens
Google lens will help you translate text on the images of signboard, book cover, or anything you have taken to English. This is a feature that is available in Google translator also, but if you have downloaded Google translator for this purpose alone, then uninstall it and make use of Google lens.
Google Assistant, the best reminder
I have heard that many people haven’t used their Google assistant ever in their life as they feel it is absurd to talk to your phone and instruct. But I insist you make use of Reminder in Google assistant. To the right of the mic option, there will be a keyboard symbol. Click on that and type any reminder, beginning with “remind me to...” and mention the date and time for it. This is an excellent reminder that it even works offline. Moreover, you needn’t install a separate app for a reminder.
Desktop site through Google chrome
We all know that every website would have two versions: a desktop version and a mobile version. Certain Website features are available for the desktop version alone. For example, Google forms can be created only through the desktop version of google drive.
Then what will you do to access those features through your smartphone? Log in to that website through Google chrome. On the top right corner, click on the three dots and select ‘desktop site’ from the list that appears. The mobile version of the website will be changed to the desktop version.
Music search through Google
Many of you reading this would have heard of apps that ‘listen’ to the portion of a song and find the whole piece. If you have downloaded any of such apps, first uninstall them before reading this! I tell you so because the voice search options Google search tab provides the best search engine to find a song from its portion. Unlike other apps, you can sing that song in your voice, and Google will do its best to see that song!
By reading this blog, at least some of you would have cleared some space on your phone, right? I hope my readers will use these exciting features of Google rather than installing other apps and spending hours watching their ads! I hope you all will enjoy this article!
