An MIT panel charts how artificial intelligence will impact art and design.

Artificial intelligence has demonstrated the greatest potential of any technology to influence our future. Specialists in a variety of industries, including microfinance, the military, and health, are assessing AI technologies and investigating how they could change their work and environments. In particular, generative AI, which uses algorithms to turn massive volumes of data into new content, presents a unique combination of potential and problems for creative people.

On October 26 at the MIT Bartos Theater, a sold-out panel discussion focused on the future of generative AI and how it will affect art and design. It was co-presented at the Council for the Arts at MIT (CAMIT) annual meeting, which brought together alumni and other patrons of the arts at MIT.
