Diabetes is a polygenic disease characterized by abnormally high glucose levels in the blood. When talking about diabetes, you may be afraid of the thought that you may have it in early life. Or maybe, you may have it in the future. You need to know if you are at the stage to develop diabetes, and anxiously you’re searching to find if you have any diabetes symptoms.
Diabetes influence the manner in which the body handles carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. If neglected, diabetes may cause serious disturbances. The diabetic patient has a high blood sugar level. The blood sugar level is monitored by insulin. The pancreas produces a hormone called insulin, which controls the amount of glucose in the bloodstream at any given moment. It also helps store glucose in your liver, fat, and muscles. Finally, it regulates your body's metabolism
Diabetes is serious trouble. But the startling fact is that diabetes is manageable. Diabetes is the main cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD). In this condition where the patient's body is not able to automatically regulate blood glucose levels, as a result too much glucose (a sugar) in the patient’s blood. Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects as many as 16 million Americans. This disease is very common in all countries. People who are stressed may have a higher risk of developing diabetes. High-stress levels affect the hormone work.
Actually, there is no distinct sign and symptom for diabetes. The main symptoms of diabetes are given below:
– Excessive thirst
– Excessive urination
– hunger poorly controlled
– feeling all the time laziness; having excessive fatigue, Weight loss
In other ways, there are some other symptoms of diabetes that are determined as diabetes complications in fact. These symptoms are:
–weak eyesight;
– recurrence of skin infections which is very difficult to heal;
– altered sensation or prickling sensation you may feel in your extremities;
– gums disorders due to the deficiency of calcium;
–loss of hair and many others.
There are two types of diabetes.
Type I Diabetes (juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes):
The main reason for type I diabetes is due to the pancreas inability to produce insulin. The reason of Type 1 diabetes is thought due to an autoimmune reaction (the body attacks itself by mistake) that destroys the own body cells in the pancreas that make insulin, called beta cells. This process continues before any symptoms appear.
Type II Diabetes
(Non-insulin-dependent diabetes or adult-onset diabetes): This diabetes is a result of body tissues becoming resistant, or insusceptible, to insulin. It is usually hereditary. (A disease transfer from parents to their offspring).
Type 2 Diabetes is very commoner than Type 1 Diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a life-long disease (by high levels of sugar in the blood). Conditions characterized by type 2 diabetes include hyperglycemia (high blood glucose) and hypoglycemia (glucose level is lower than normal). Type 2 diabetes may be common for about 90% to 95% of all diagnosed cases of diabetes. Up to two-thirds of people with type 2 diabetes have no signs and symptoms. Obesity is the main, most important risk factor for type 2 diabetes. An estimated 20% of all reported cases of new-onset type 2 diabetes are in individuals between the ages of 9-19. The more you know about type 2 diabetes, the more you’ll be able to take the right steps to take control of your condition before getting this disease.
If neglected, diabetes can lead to various complications and become the reason for severe illnesses such as damage to the kidneys, heart disease, nerve damage, hypoglycemia (drastic reduction in glucose levels). Diabetes is a common disease and there is no treatment for it. However, it can be brought under control by a proper diabetic diet, so you can able to fight this disease.
