MSD born 1981 July 7 play cricket professionally for India. In limited-overs forms from 2007 to 2017 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014, he served as the captain of the Indian national side. One of the best cricket captains, wicket keeper, batsmen, and finishers in history is largely regarded as being MSD. He is a right-handed wicket keeper and batter who has earned a reputation for his calm leadership and ability to prevail in tight situations. A Jharkhand native who was raised in Ranchi, Bihar, Because of his remarkable wicket keep abilities, he was selected to play in the 1997/1998 Trophy Under-16 Championship and did well. From 1995 to 1998, he was the regular wicket keeper for the Commando Cricket Club. He served as a traveling ticket examiner for the South Eastern Railway and West Bengal, from 2001 to 2003. MSD played his first Test match against Sri Lanka a year after making his ODI debut against Bangladesh in Chittagong on December 23, 2004. A year later, he played South Africa in his debut Twenty20 international.[15] He succeeded Rahul as India's ODI captain in 2007 and was chosen as the team's T20I captain in the same year.[16] He was chosen as the Test captain in 2008.[17] He had a mixed record as captain in the Test format, but he did lead India to triumphs in the Border Trophy (home series against Australia in 2010 and 2013) and over New Zealand in 2008. MSD is the first cricketer to have won all three of the major ICC trophies in other formats since, while he was captain.
In addition to leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to triumphs in the league's 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023 editions, and to the Indian Premier League final on ten occasions, he has also won the Champions League T20, in 2010 and 2014. He is the seventh cricketer to exceed 5,000 runs in the IPL and the first wicket keeper to do it.
He is the only cricket captain in history to have triumphed three times in a row in the Cricket World Cup, ICC Men's T20 World Cup, and ICC Champions Trophy. MSD currently has the honorary, title of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army's Parachute Regiment, which was bestowed upon him by the Indian Army in 2011 in recognition of his contributions to the country as a cricket player.[20] MSD is regarded as one of cricket's most well-liked players worldwide. He resigned as captain of the T20 Internationals and ODIS in 2017, and he announced his retirement from Tests on December 30, 2014.
