A short story a day :--
Today I am; Tomorrow you...!
After his father's death, his son put his mother in a nursing home, unable to take care of him.
He put his mother in a nursing home because there was no one to take care of him at home as his wife also went to work.
He used to visit his mother there once a month.
Many years have passed.
One day he was informed that his mother was very ill.
The son immediately went to meet his mother.
The mother was dying.
"Mom, do you want anything?" asked the son.
There are no electric fans in this nursing home.
I have not slept for many days with no air and mosquito bites.
I have slept for days without eating because I could not eat the rotten food served here.
So will you buy some electric fans for this house and a refrigerator to preserve the food?” Mother asked in a soft voice.
The son was surprised.
“I have been visiting you for years.
Not even once did he say such a complaint.
Why are you asking this now?” He asked and slowly looked up at his son's face.
“Son, I am used to sleeping here without an electric fan and bearing mosquito bites.
I can bear the hunger and suffering here.
But I am sorry to think that you will not be able to bear your children when they send you to this home.
That's why I'm asking now."
The things in life that hurt also teach. I was moved while reading.
