Who iPhone 13 Pro vs Android: Hardware Deep Dive Comparison [versus Galaxy S 21+, OP 9 Pro, Pixel 5 part 2

The displays and internet connections stamina, put the new Cinematic Mode to the test, compared cameras at a museum photo shoot and put the augmented reality engines to the test. We wore poor OUT! But it was all worth it, so sit back, relax, grab some snacks and settle in for this in-depth analysis. background the one plus 9 pro 14:36 quadrant of this fountain here and the 14:39 one plus 9 pro even got clear images of 14:43 the water droplets coming out of one of 14:45 the other gargoyle faces and heads 14:47 from the side moving on let's get 14:49 indoors and look at some of those low 14:51 light shots 14:52 we have a shot of a 14:56 mom and child maybe here and 14:59 again 15:00 drama like said from the beginning 15:03 one plus 9 uh has plenty of it the but 15:07 it's darker whereas the 15:10 uh 13 pro exposed a little lighter 15:13 you get more detail in the slate as 15:17 you can see up top here uh up top you 15:20 can see the slate 15:2 you just have more texture and more 15:24 drama in this photo and think that's 15:25 one of the important things is that deep 15:28 fusion on the 13 pro and their 15:30 computational photography is just really 15:33 good at capturing that emotion capturing 15:36 that texture capturing that drama of 15:39 that image and so out of these four 15:41 images the two going to like the 15:44 most personally are going to be the 13 15:47 pro and the one plus 9 pro and let's 15:52 move to another indoor shot this time 15:54 this was actually very low light indoors 15:57 this was a sarcophagus 16:01 and it 16:03 was dark in that room so 16:06 took a shot with the main camera on 16:10 each and then 16:11 zoomed out and let's 16:16 see what those results look like 16:18 so here's our main camera on each of 16:21 these 16:23 and let's get to the main camera on the 16:25 s21 there we go 16:27 on these you actually get more detail 16:31 when you zoom in 16:32 it looks like on the s21 you see it's 16:36 all in focus the foot area is in focus 16:38 and figures are pretty well in 16:40 focus as well 16:42 whereas the 13 pro 16:45 the foot area is out of focus even 16:48 though you have really good sharp focus 16:50 on the figures on the body of the 16:51 sarcophagus and again zooming into the 16:55 one plus 9 pro 16:56 it is really sharp it's probably the 17:00 sharpest of the four 17:01 and let's zoom in and look at the 17:04 the pixel 5 you can see it's not as 17:07 sharp so probably the sharpest image of 17:10 this bunch is gonna be the one plus nine 17:13 pro these were shooting this mummy 17:14 through glass and let's look at those 17:16 ultra because the one plus 9 pro 17:19 was known for the quality and low light 17:22 quality of its 17:25 gonna go with the one plus 17:28 nine 17:29 pro on this one you can see it's just a 17:31 brighter image it lets in more light 17:33 without creating a bunch of noise the 17:35 s21 plus has more noise in the upper 17:39 area of the image here 17:40 the 17:43 is brighter than all of them and 17:46 actually really sharp uh 17:49 the background image here is a 17:51 little blurry and there's just a little 17:53 bit of noise in the image out of 17:55 the four images probably like the 17:58 pixel and the one plus 9 pro but the 18:01 one plus 9 pro think clearly takes the 18:03 cake here uh for these low light images 18:07 and uh let's get into some macros 18:10 because was really impressed with what 18:12 saw out of the macro 18:15 uh cameras on this 18:17 uh particular uh relief here uh that we 18:21 saw in the museum 18:23 the best one 18:25 here m definitely going to give it to 18:28 the 13 pro and this is why if you look 18:32 at the images you've got vignetting 18:34 around the top of the s21 plus where the 18:36 image isn't clear here 18:39 the image on the 13 pro is 18:41 completely clear all the way through no 18:47 image with again drama you see a lot of 18:49 texture in the forehead area you're 18:52 getting more texture than the other 18:53 images and again in focus clear shot 18:57 uh no vignetting 18:59 where you start to see that 19:01 with the other cameras so 19:04 uh with this one with the macro lens 19:08 definitely 19:09 going to go with 19:10 the 13 pro is my favorite on this and 19:13 then the 19:16 runner-up 19:17 so here's portrait mode from the 19:20 front-facing selfies 19:21 of these portraits which looked at 19:24 earlier the skin tone probably looks the 19:26 most natural on the 13 pro and the pixel 19:30 5. 19:31 uh 19:32 the most dramatic again goes to the 13 19:36 pro it didn't wash out my face even 19:38 though the sun was hitting me like it 19:40 was the background is beautifully 19:42 broken uh beautifully blurred 19:46 uh the pixel 5 looked really great on 19:49 the edges great edge detection and that 19:52 background blur is really nice again 19:55 with good skin tone and uh 19:58 could do without as much sun flare as 20:00 there is in 20:02 looks to kind of wash out the image 20:05 that isn't all there is to see when 20:07 it comes to those cameras how about the 20:09 video capabilities is often 20:12 thought of as the best phone for video 20:16 recording although been able to get 20:18 excellent results with my note 20 ultra 20:22 as well you just need to know your tools 20:24 this year apple's added a cinematic mode 20:28 which gives you driven automatic 20:31 focus pulling but what is focus pulling 20:34 and how does that relate to cinematic 20:36 mode 20:37 so cinematic mode m going to show you 20:40 how that works 20:41 manually with 5 000 worth of camera 20:44 equipment now apple's figured out how to 20:46 pull this off with a thousand dollars 20:49 twelve hundred dollars worth of phone 20:51 but five thousand dollars worth of 20:52 camera equipment that  20:53 shooting with right now black magic 20:55 pocket cinema camera 6k with a sub 20:58 thousand dollar lens on it then m 21:00 going to show you an android comparison 21:02 the only phone you can actually make 21:03 this comparison with the 21:06 mark ii so focus pulling he's in focus 21:10 first because he's the action first he's 21:12 the action second he'll be in focus 21:14 second that's what the whole purpose of 21:16 cinematic mode and focus pulling is 21:19 let's go action camera you 22:00 have to do the work yourself as you saw 22:03 but the impressive thing about apple's 22:06 cinematic mode is that one it uses to 22:10 determine when you want to change focal 22:13 links and 2 22:14 actually determines the focal length all 22:17 on the fly 22:19 it isn't perfect this is first gen 22:22 witchcraft after all but without any 22:24 bias it's actually pretty damn cool 22:27 science 22:28 and while we're talking video let's 22:31 compare the functionality of the 22:34 four phones they say everything looks 22:36 better in slow motion so here's me with 22:39 out of practice but again allegedly 22:44 everything is supposed to look better in 22:46 slow motion right 22:47 in my opinion the s21 plus and 13 pro 22:50 have the best looking all around 22:54 the video from the 13 looks better 22:57 but the slo-mo on the s21 plus like 23:01 more because it's 240 frames per second 23:04 as oppose 23:07 had to use in use the 23:10 13 pro for its better quality video 23:14 output 23:15 and now probably the most important 23:18 video of all in this analysis is 23:20 comparative analysis me 23:22 frolicking in the park yes frolic 23:25 especially  testing out the 23:27 video stabilization had my sons follow 23:29 me as frolicked you can see the 23:31 results as they try to keep up the 23:33 smoothest video here actually is a mixed 23:36 bag the looks smoothest 23:39 without question my son was actually 23:41 moving around more with the 13 pro and 23:44 s21 plus more 23:46 you know horizontally plus you have more 23:48 movement like said on the horizontal 23:50 axis but if you look at the up and down 23:52 motion it's actually pretty stable the 23:54 s21 plus actually has jitters and the 23:57 pixel 5 video has way too much noise 24:00 which do you like most 24:03 some additional notes and observations 24:05 the 13 pro this year has a 5 core 24:09 and in my benchmarking the device which 24:11 came closest to matching the 13 pro's 24:14 processing power was the 24:16 so tested their augmented reality 24:18 capabilities using the wayfarer app and 24:21 placing furniture in the room if you 24:23 held still both apps pop the furniture 24:26 into the frame fairly quickly but when 24:28 you started moving around the one plus 9's was choppy while that's due to not only those five cords of g power but the 12 core neural processing unit and the six core c all working in tandem so at the end of the day we all have our preferences and as you've seen tried to stay away from an o s discussion and really focus on the output of the hardware and have to say that this year's pro model is a beast of a machine so whether you're a Samsung knight or commando good technology executed well benefits us all because it pushes the envelope
