Acne mainly affects people in the age group of 12 to 24 years. It is difficult to determine the cause of acne. However, excessive secretion of sebaceous glands has been reported to trigger the spread of acne.
Pilosebaceous units are a combination of hair follicles and oil glands in the skin. Pilosebaceous units appear on the skin tissue throughout the body except for the surface of the palms and soles of the feet. They are responsible for secreting an oily substance called sebum. However, many factors (such as hormonal imbalances, stress, and the skin's natural state) can cause oil glands to produce more sebum than normal. When this happens, excess oil clogs the skin pores. This process brings about a bacterial infection and stimulates the immune system to respond. Finally, pimples can be the result of inflammation.
Acne can affect any skin. Oily skin type is more prone to acne. On the other hand, dry skin may not be so sensitive but can cause severe outbreaks in the winter. Normal skin is less prone to acne with less severity.
Currently, acne is not completely cured, but it can be treated with many acne skincare methods. Most people take topical medications with the help of medications that are applied to the skin surface. However, using acne skin care products will eliminate whiteheads and blackheads, but they will not affect the excess sebum produced.
Acne can occur anywhere on the face, neck, back, or chest and, in severe cases, can lead to social loneliness or emotional and physical scars.
However, for treatment and prevention, it is best to follow the following 8 simple tips:
1. Follow a healthy, balanced diet. Therefore, your diet should contain all the nutrients that the body needs for effective functioning.
2. Drink plenty of fluids like water and juice. Reduce consumption of carbonated beverages.
3. Makeup is not recommended.
4. Wash your face with mild soap and water. The logic is not to remove dirt (as experienced by most people who suffer from acne) but to remove the plugs on the skin's pores, which is a combination of dead skin cells, bacteria, and hardened sebum. Although dirt does not actually cause acne, it can contribute to further infection by interacting with skin debris and cells and excess oil in the skin.
5. Use topical cleansing pads that contain one or a combination of the following: salicylic acid, sulfur, and benzoyl peroxide to remove excess oil. Another way to reduce excess oil in the skin is to wash your face with warm water as possible.
6. Reduce the use of harsh cleansers and exfoliating acne skin care products that are easy to exfoliate. Do not scrub the affected areas severely.
7. If you have hands are not clean, do not touch your face.
8. If you have long hair, tie your hair away from the face. This is especially true when the weather is hot, and you are sweating.
Acne skincare steps are just as important as treating acne. With prevention, at the very least, you know how to prevent your acne problem from growing and spreading to the infected area.
