If you have a smartphone and want its battery to last longer, never do this while charging. As the world goes digital, smartphone usage is increasing. Today every other person owns a smartphone, due to excessive usage, battery draining quickly becomes a headache, and battery charging is always needed, and mobile phones are often seen on charging. Many people also complain that their mobile phone battery drains quickly and becomes ineffective. These are usually minor mistakes made while charging, which sometimes become a heavy burden on the pocket. If you have a smartphone and want the phone or battery to last you for a long time, avoid the following small mistakes that will save you from major damage down the road.
Leave the battery to charge overnight.
It is a common problem that mobile users use the phone even after going to bed and when they go to sleep, they charge the phone which stays on charge all night. Leaving the phone on the charger overnight even after it is fully charged can prove disastrous for the battery in the long run. When our smartphone is 100% charged and still on the charger, the stress on the battery increases and as a result, its life starts to decrease.
Charging the battery near the discharge.
Generally, it has also been seen that the battery power starts to decrease while using the phone, despite the red sign, most people do not switch off the phone, but charge it only when it is completely switched off or when the charging is very low. So just as charging the battery at 100% is harmful, charging the battery at 0 instead of 5% is also not a good habit. Doing this continuously also puts stress on the battery and ends its life very quickly.
Not using the phone's original charger for charging.
Using chargers made by unknown companies for smartphones is one of the biggest mistakes and is also very common. It is important to use the original charger as well as the cable, as both of them can damage the phone internally in case of a power failure.
Using the phone while charging.
In the often-busy world of work and school, it's normal for the phone to keep ringing—that is, it will continue to receive calls. It's bad for you. When the phone is charging, it must perform two tasks simultaneously, putting additional strain on the battery, which weakens it and shortens its lifespan. It is preferable to turn off the phone and charge it, but if an important call is being made while the phone is on, you should first disconnect it from the charger and then talk.
Do not remove the phone case while charging.
It's also a common mistake that almost everyone makes they don't remove the phone case while charging. Doing so is harmful because not removing the phone case while charging allows heat to build up in the device, heating the battery and internals of the phone. Excessive heat is detrimental to battery life, so remove the phone case before charging to avoid overheating the battery.
Do not unplug the charger from the power socket.
A charger plugged into a power socket is constantly drawing power even when the phone is not connected. This process may add a small amount to the power bill, but it gradually heats up, which not only increases the risk of short circuits, but doing so continuously can also damage the phone internally.
