6 Factors that affect language learning and Aspects of Language Teaching
Learning starts from birth and ends to death. Therefore, learning is life long process. We are learning from our surrounding environments either from family, society, school and friend circle as well. Some important factors play a pivotal role in language learning. They are discussed below:-
- Exposure
Exposure play the vital role in learning. If the students get more exposure or contact with the learning environment they can learn faster. For example, the students of private schools can learn the English language faster than in government schools. - Age Difference
The experts believe that age difference also play the pivotal role in learning. It is believed that learning process becomes faster in early age and with the increasing of age learning becomes slower.
3. Social Distance
Social distance also affects the learning process. If students get more social interactions, their learning becomes better and effective. Nowadays due to the globalization the social distance is less. So, the students receive much English input and learning achievement is also great. - Aptitude

Learning strategies means the techniques used by the learners and teachers to learn the language. The pace and success of learning depends on strategies used in learning language. So, it plays a pivotal role in learning the language.

Teaching and learning means an interaction between teachers and students with specific goals, strategies, subject matters etc in the classroom. Before teaching, teachers should know the learners whom to team parents,t identify the student’s age, level, mother tongue, parents, theietconal and social background, economic, intellectual capacities, etc. Effective and successful teaching can be done after knowing the students.
Ø Why to teach?
This aspect refers to the objective and goals of the teaching. It deals with the learning purpose of language. The purpose of teaching language learning can be different. They can leant for academic purpose, instrumental purpose, communicative purpose, business purpose and so on.
Ø What to teach?
This aspect is related to the subject matter of language to be taught. The subject can be linguistic items, or vocabulary, sound, grammar, lessons etc.
The teacher has to select the subject matter as per the learners level and objectives of the learning.
Ø When to teach?
This aspect refers to the time and the order of subject matters to be taught. It is also related to the age of the learners. It is believed that the early age is better than the elder age to learn language better and faster.
Ø Where to teach?
It refers to the setting or environment where teaching and learning take place. It refers to the place where teaching and learning process can be done effective and successfully. It is also related to classroom management and the school environment.
