20(R)Ginsenoside Rg3

20(R)Ginsenoside Rg3 (Synonyms: 20(R)-Propanaxadiol)

Catalog No.GN10147

20(R) Ginsenoside Rg3 is one of the two principal stereoisomers of Ginsenoside Rg3, a tetracyclic triterpenoid saponin formed during the thermal processing of ginseng. While both epimers are subjects of intense study, the 20(R) form is particularly valued in research for its distinct neuroprotective activities. 20(R)-Ginsenoside Rg3 is frequently employed as a pharmacological tool to investigate mechanisms of neuronal protection against excitotoxicity, often through its modulation of ion channels (e.g., Ca²⁺ and K⁺ channels). In addition to its use in neuropharmacology, 20(R)-Ginsenoside Rg3 is also explored in oncological models for its ability to act as a chemosensitizer, reversing multidrug resistance and enhancing the efficacy of conventional anticancer drugs.
