Many scientists around the world have contributed to the emergence of scientific advances in the medical, engineering, and technological areas. We would not be able to see the world we see today without the contribution of these great personalities. From ancient Greek philosophers to modern-day scientists, we have seen inexplicable abilities that have helped define our existence.
As a result of their work in improving the lives of humanity with their many inventions, their names will remain in the sands of time. The following list features 10 of the greatest scientists the world has ever known.
10. Greek philosopher Aristotle (384-322)
Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and scientist of the ancient age, a student of Plato, and a tutor to Alexander the Great. The philosopher born in 384 BC was an expert in zoology, biology, ethics, political science, rhetoric, and logic. In addition, he offered theories in physics and metaphysics.
His enlightened mind and profound writings enabled Aristotle to gain knowledge across several fields. His writings, however, are few and far between. Aristotle collected the plant and animal specimens and classified them according to their characteristics, establishing a standard for future work. Further, he presented theories on the philosophy of science.
In addition, Aristotle provided estimates of the size of the earth, which Plato assumed to be a globe. Through his study of flora and fauna, Aristotle explained how life turned from simple to complex.
9. The Greek Archimede (287 - 212 BC)
In addition to being one of the greatest mathematicians of all time, Archimedes developed a profound knowledge of mathematical physics and engineering widely applied to machines and constructions. As one of the greatest scientists who made breakthroughs in both theory and practice, Archimedes was born in 287 BC.
His contributions to calculus include introducing infinitesimals. He computed the area and volume of spheres and parabolic segments among the first finite geometric progressions he described.
In addition to finding the laws of levers, density, fluid equilibrium, and buoyancy, he made fundamental discoveries in different fields of statics and hydrostatics. The formal science that started in Ancient Greece is regarded as his prophetic work.
In his words, "Give me a place to stand, and I can move the whole world." His generosity is still felt today. The scientific community stands on his shoulders. Even though most of his works were burned in the museum of Alexandria, the remnants left behind sufficient ideas for modern science and technology.
8. Galileo Galilei (1564-1642 AD)

Faraday is best known for his discoveries of electromagnetic inductions and rotations, field theory, dia-magnetization, and the magneto-optical effect. Among his many accomplishments was the invention of the electric motor and Faraday's ring.
Because of Faraday's inquisitive nature, he took chemistry lectures and later became a lecturer at the Royal Institution after Humphry Davy retired.
Besides optical deceptions, Faraday also published papers on gas condensation and benzene isolation in gas oils. Additionally, he wrote books on "Experimental Researches in Electricity" and "Chemical History of the Candle." Faraday passed away in 1867.
6. Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931 AD)
He was nicknamed "The Wizard of Menlo Park" and was born in 1847. Edison excelled at both science and invention, patenting 1,093 inventions in his lifetime. Edison's greatest inventions are batteries, phonographs, cement, mining, telegraphs, lights, and power.
Also, he improved Graham Bell's the telephone and invented the kinetoscope for viewing moving films. He worked almost 20 hours a day.
He was the creator of the electronic voting recorder, which he used for the legislative. In addition, he proposed keeping fruits in a vacuum to preserve them. The idea of storage batteries that Edison pioneered was later used by Henry Ford in his automobile.
One of the most famous quotes by this genius is, "Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.". In the year 1931, he passed away.
5. Marie Curie Sklodowska (1867-1934 AD)
Marie Curie holds the record for being the first woman to receive a Nobel Prize. Inventor and scientist Marie Curie were born as the youngest of five siblings in Warsaw, Poland, in 1867.
Since she was determined to succeed, Marie Curie has always been a source of inspiration and motivation for women scientists. On the battlefield, she invented the first mobile X-ray machine that enabled injured soldiers to be checked for injuries.
She created metal radium as another great invention. To test their radioactivity, Curies analyzed different elements and found thorium. She also created the pitch-blend, which was a source of radiation more powerful than uranium or thorium. With her invention of radioactive materials, she is also called "the mother of the atom bomb."
Sadly, despite her brilliant mind, hard work, and patience in carefully performing experiments, she died of radiation poisoning in 1934 due to her own invention.
4. Louis Pasteur (1822-1895 AD)
Louis Pasteur contributed greatly to science, technology, and medicine. In 1822, this genius was born and spent his life studying chemistry and microbiology.
In the 1880s, Pasteur was recognized as the first scientist to examine the fermentation of food elements caused by microbes. Additionally, he proposed the "Germ Theory" to explain biogenesis. Furthermore, he created a way to tone and treat milk without damage-causing microbes through a process called "pasteurization."
Pasteur is also credited with being the first man to discover a cure for puerperal fever and create vaccines for rabies and anthrax. In addition, he explained the asymmetry in crystals on a molecular level.
Despite his wide range of accomplishments and approaches to inventions and discoveries, he stands out as a giant genius. Sadly, he passed away in 1895.
3. Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727 AD)
Sir Isaac Newton was born in Woolsthrope, England, in 1643. He struggled at school or in managing the family estate. He is best known for his law of gravitation. He also loved to make mechanical toys and windmill models.
Newton invented calculus to explain gravity and gravitation as no other principle could do so. He developed calculus by applying his binomial theorem to infinite series, which could measure the areas inside curves or the speed at which they changed.
Additionally, he explained that tides result from the gravitational pull of the sun, moon, and earth.
Newton's laws appear in different fields, including chemistry, optics, and mechanics. Additionally, he invented the reflecting telescope. In 1705, Queen Anne knighted him with the title Sir. 1727 was the year Newton passed away at the age of 84.
2. Albert Einstein (1879-1955 AD)
As one of the greatest revolutionary scientists of all time, Einstein was born in 1879 in Ulm.
For his contribution to the development of the general theory of relativity, "Man of the Century" even becomes the father of modern physics. His theory is responsible for the world's most famous equation, E=mc2.
Albert Einstein's genius mind for scientific advancement changed the world in immeasurable ways. In addition to being one of the greatest scientists of the 20th century, Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity revolutionized physics, even challenging CERN scientists. In addition to his intellect, he was also a celebrity, thanks to his flirtatious behavior.

Earlier than Edison knew about charges, Tesla was producing AC. Tesla used all of Marconi's ideas in his radio invention, which won him a Nobel prize.
He developed many ideas and inventions, but most of them were either copied, stolen, or taken by someone else. Tesla invented a way to charge a house with electric lighting but didn't share it for fear that someone else would use it.
With his inventions, this incredible mind sparked revolutions. With his futuristic mind, he could think on any wavelength. Unfortunately, he did die in a hotel room, where he was found dead only two days after he passed away in 1943.

Without these great people, we wouldn't be able to see the world that we see today. Our existence has been defined by inexplicable abilities evident in ancient Greek philosophers and modern-day scientists alike.
